A Small Good Thing

A Small Good Thing tells the stories of people moving away from a philosophy of 'more is better' and toward a more holistic conception of happiness — one based on a
close connection to their bodies and health, to the natural world, and to the greater good. The film is set in in the Berkshires, a destination for change-seekers, spiritual explorers, and artists seeking solace and stimulation amid the pastoral landscape. Among the subjects of A Small Good Thing is Shirley Edgerton, a community organizer in the Berkshires empowering young people through her two organizations: Youth Alive and Rites of Passage and Empowerment (ROPE).

This March, A Small Good Thing, is aiming to hold 50 screenings -- one in each state and each one dedicated to a different social worker  or social work organization. The film won best documentary at this year's Boston International Film Festival and a 9-day run at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston.
